Support student employment opportunities
The Guild’s vocational department works with students to personalize job training goals and experiences based on their unique interests. Employment services staff plan vocational training opportunities and serve as job coaches to students.
In addition to its student-run coffeeshop, The Guild is interested in expanding its vocational services to include mock-retail, restaurant, and office environments where students can practice skills they can use on-the-job. To do this, we need your help! We’re looking for donations of the following, new or gently used:
-Dining room table with chairs
-Printer/fax/copy machines
-Computer/laptops
-Cardboard packaging boxes
-Packaging materials: bubble wrap, packing paper, shipping labels, etc.
-Clothing (gently used accepted and new items in same style/different sizes to create mock store)
-Clothing hangers
-Restaurant table setup items: salt/pepper shakers, silverware, dishware, napkins
In addition, we’re looking for donations from local restaurants and businesses for the following:
-Restaurant booth setup (2 small booth seats & a table)
-Cashier station
-Grocery shelving unit
-Magazine holders and shelves for cash register area
