Eligibility
The Guild does not make a determination regarding eligibility for adult services or residential placement. In accordance with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ Chapter 688 process, eligibility is determined by an adult organization such as the Department of Developmental Services (DDS).
Adult eligibility for DDS occurs at 18 years of age, and it is always best to be as prepared as possible. The applicant or guardian is responsible for obtaining all relevant information required to determine eligibility and must make every reasonable effort to ensure that the information is received by DDS in a timely manner. Assessments made before the age of 18 are critical for a determination of eligibility.
When all information is gathered and assessments completed, the regional eligibility team psychologist conducts a review and makes the determination decision after conferring with members of the eligibility team.
