Students showcase their talents at annual show
“Guild’s Got Talent” – the theme of this year’s Guild School talent show – proved to be no mere boast as about 20 students showed off their skills and abilities by playing musical instruments, singing, dancing, performing magic tricks, telling jokes, demonstrating contortionist flexibility and even simulating noises from different car brands.
While most of the students showed off their talents solo, the annual event also featured a student-teacher song-and dance-routine and a group reading of Eric Carle’s classic “Head to Toe” by Shaina’s class.
Hollywood comes to The Guild for festive Spring Dance
More than 100 individuals experienced the glitz, glamour and excitement of Hollywood at the annual Spring Dance with this year’s theme: Hollywood Comes to The Guild.
Guild CEO a finalist for leadership award
Amy C. Sousa, the chief executive officer of The Guild for Human Services, has been named one of five finalists for the 2019 Nonprofit Excellence Leadership Award by the Massachusetts Nonprofit Network (MNN).
Honoring our adult residents
The Guild for Human Services’ annual Adult Residential Program Awards Ceremony recognized 50 individuals for their accomplishments over the past year.
Family and friends joined the honorees at the event, which was held on Sunday, Oct. 14 at The Westin in Waltham.
“We are proud to recognize and celebrate the individual achievements of the individuals we support in their adult homes,” said Maureen Costello-Shea, chief program officer.

Students enjoy busy winter recess
During the winter recess at The Guild School, residential students enjoyed a busy break participating in enriching activities held at the school, in the residences and at locations around Eastern Massachusetts.
Highlights included an exotic animal visit and a New Year’s Eve party at The Guild; a trip to see Disney on Ice; attending the La Salette Christmas Festival of Lights and Zoo Lights at the Stone Zoo; and making gingerbread houses at the residences.
