Eliza Adams, Communications Specialist at The Guild for Human Services, was named one of five finalists for the 2024 Nonprofit Excellence Young Professionals Award by the Massachusetts Nonprofit Network (MNN).
Eliza is passionate about the human services field and specifically the work The Guild does to serve youth and adults with intellectual disabilities in 15 different communities. Despite having a staff of over 500 people, Eliza has made herself known and accessible to every Guild classroom, Guild residence, and program and administrative department within the organization. You will often find Eliza at every event at The Guild School in Concord and at our residences across the region. She is particular adept at writing and storytelling, identifying the unique journey of a Guild student, resident, staff member, family, or partner, and sharing that through engaging articles, photographs, graphics, videos, award submissions, etc.
During Eliza’s tenure, The Guild’s reach has nearly doubled in website visitation and social media reach. Our monthly enewsletter has reached a 50% open rate, which is outstanding for the nonprofit industry. The Guild has also won numerous awards and recognition from ANCOR, the Providers Council, and the Mass Nonprofit Network which she authored. The Guild received two awards for its short documentary, The World Got Smaller: The Spirit of The Guild During COVID-19, which Eliza co-produced. Eliza produces The Guild’s Annual Report, a key component of our Annual Fund appeal, which this year broke all fundraising records with a 41% increase over last year including a 45% increase in new donors. Eliza also manages The Guild’s team that participates in the Flutie 5K for Autism, and during her time, The Guild has become the Flutie 5K’s largest charity partner.
The winners will be announced at MNN’s Nonprofit Excellence Awards at the New England Aquarium on Wednesday, June 12. Awards will be distributed to individuals and nonprofit organizations in the following six categories: Excellence in Advocacy, Excellence in Community-Building, Excellence in Innovation, Excellence in Leadership, Excellence by a Small Nonprofit, and Excellence by a Young Professional. Congratulation Eliza on your nomination!
