The Guild Awarded Grant from The Sudbury Foundation to Create Sensory Friendly Spaces
The Guild for Human Services, which educates, encourages, and empowers individuals with intellectual disabilities, is pleased to announce that it was awarded a $20,000 grant from The Sudbury Foundation. The funds will be used to improve trauma-informed care and emotional well-being for students with intellectual disabilities when they experience distress by expanding access to sensory regulating materials and create sensory-friendly environments in The Guild School.
The Guild Awarded Federal Grant To Reduce or Eliminate the Use of Time-Out Rooms
The Guild for Human Services was recently awarded a $74,907 federal grant through the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) to reduce or eliminate the use of time-out rooms. The funds will allow The Guild School to expand the number of inclusive and welcoming open spaces and enhance the overall learning environment.

The Guild Receives $10,000 Grant from Community Foundation for MetroWest
The Guild for Human Services is pleased to announce that it has received a $10,000 grant from the Community Foundation for MetroWest.
The funds will be used towards The Guild’s adult services program that provides housing and person-centered, trauma-informed care for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Mark Green Joins The Guild as Chief Advancement Officer
Mark Green joined The Guild for Human Services as Chief Advancement Officer on February 1, 2023. In this role, he will work closely with The Guild’s senior team to lead the organization’s philanthropic revenue growth and build a comprehensive development program. The Guild Receives Grant from M&T Bank Charitable Foundation to Purchase Standby Generator for Willow House
The Guild for Human Services, a nonprofit serving individuals with intellectual disabilities, is pleased to announce that it was awarded a $7,500 grant from M&T Bank Charitable Foundation. The funds will be used to purchase a new 22,000-Watt Standby Generator in case of power outages or emergencies at its Willow House residence in Waltham, Massachusetts.
The Guild Wins Communicator Award for COVID-19 Documentary
The Guild for Human Services has been recognized with an Award of Excellence in the 28th Annual Communicator Awards for its short documentary, The World Got Smaller: The Spirit of The Guild During COVID-19. Produced by Viamark Video, the film features interviews with Guild staff, students, residents, parents, and community partners and provides a first-hand look at how the pandemic curtailed the community life of individuals with intellectual disabilities.
COVID-19 Documentary "The World Got Smaller" by The Guild to premiere March 16
The Guild for Human Services, which educates, encourages, and empowers individuals with intellectual disabilities, is premiering its documentary, The World Got Smaller: The Spirit of The Guild during COVID-19 on March 16th at 1 PM EST online. The short film provides a first-hand look at how the pandemic curtailed the community life of individuals with intellectual disabilities. The film is being released to commemorate the second anniversary of the State of Emergency declared in Massachusetts and the subsequent closing of schools.
Robert Sousa Joins The Guild’s Board of Trustees
The Guild for Human Services recently elected Robert Sousa of Marlborough to its Board of Trustees. Sousa is an Assistant Vice President, Asset Liability Analyst at Middlesex Savings Bank. He earned his Bachelor's of Accounting from the University of South Florida and his Master of Science in Finance from Boston College. He is currently a Level III candidate for the Charted Financial Analyst (CFA) Designation.
