Mark Green joined The Guild for Human Services as Chief Advancement Officer on February 1, 2023. In this role, he will work closely with The Guild’s senior team to lead the organization’s philanthropic revenue growth and build a comprehensive development program. Mark looks forward to launching The Guild’s major and leadership gifts program, cultivating prospective donors, and stewarding current and future funders to ensure The Guild’s sustained financial success.
Mark’s ties to the human services sector trace back to his early roles as a residential counselor with Germaine Lawrence Schools and then as an anti-violence counselor with Emerge, Inc. After ten years in direct service work, Mark became the inaugural Director of Development with the Gay Men’s Domestic Violence Project (GMDVP). He successfully implemented GMDVP’s first 5-year strategic plan and founded the organization’s major gift program that generated 40% annual growth over six years.
Mark went on to serve as the Director of Development at Jumpstart for Young Children, an organization that advances equitable learning outcomes by delivering high-quality pre-k programming in underserved communities. Most recently, Mark served as the Executive Director for Regional Operations at Reading Partners, a national non-profit that provides students in under-resourced schools with individualized reading support. In this capacity, he oversaw $10 million in revenue and ensured regional teams were positioned to support the national organization’s long-term strategic goals.
Throughout his career, Mark has focused on partnering with individuals, organizations, and communities to ensure every person has the opportunity to live their fullest life. He earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Bentley University.
